Aim and Vision of the Project
The aim of this project is to rethink the design of a juvenile Prison, as a Rehabilitation and Reformation Centre by offering a facility for children in conflict with the law and children in need of care and protection, a community that focuses on care, protection, reformation, and rehabilitation of the child in a safe environment with educational goals and healing spaces.
During the process of designing a secure campus for the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center, numerous design and security restrictions had to be taken into account. The paramount concern was to ensure the safety and well-being of the children, resident staff, and visitors while strictly adhering to the rules and regulations set forth in the relevant laws. A range of factors were considered, such as perimeter security, controlled access points, surveillance systems, and emergency protocols. The campus layout had to be carefully planned to incorporate secure housing units, educational and recreational facilities, and administrative spaces, all while maintaining a balance between security and creating a conducive environment for rehabilitation. Additionally, the design needed to incorporate measures for effective supervision, conflict resolution, and rehabilitation programs. The project's success hinged upon the integration of these stringent design and security requirements, ensuring that the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center would serve as a secure and nurturing environment for its occupants.
